Partners come together in Ghana to boost collaboration in fistula elimination |

Approximately 14 partner organizations participated in the international Obstetric Fistula Working Group meeting in Accra, Ghana from 13 to 14 April 2008. This meeting brought together experts from Africa, North America, and Europe to discuss and share their current efforts in obstetric fistula. This forum provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and coordination within the context of the group and allowed discussion among partners regarding how best to expand the partnership.

May 2008, Washington - A collaborative effort of United States Congressional leaders, the United Nations Foundation and UNFPA facilitated the visit of fistula advocates Sarah Omega of Kenya and Caroline Ditina of the Democratic Republic of Congo - who led the call for the US government to invest in women and improve global maternal health.
